1. The Disco Nap
Let’s start with a classic: the disco nap! Long gone are the days of Studio 54, but this nap style is still shaking its groove thing. It began back when dancing the night away was customary for all days ending in “y.” Falling between 45 and 90 minutes, this nap is great for when you really need to rally.
2. The Sport Nap
This is the tougher of the napping styles. A short, 15-minute nap can produce immediate gains to physical and mental performance without any grogginess. The trick is waking up. Sleeping longer than 15 minutes will leave you a bit sluggish.
3. The New Mom Nap (for Dads, too)
Multitasking, while your kid is down, seems like the perfect time to be productive, right? Nope! Take it where you can get it. This way, you will be more focused when your kid’s awake.
4. The Executive Nap
This one is similar to the sport nap but with a greater focus on acumen. It’s an early-afternoon nap that lasts about 25 minutes. Any longer and you will feel terrible. Any later in the day and you negatively affect your sleep health.
5. The Coffee Nap
Oh yeah, you read that right. Two of your favorite things -- coffee and sleeping! Quickly drink a cup of coffee (probably iced so you don’t burn yourself) and then lay down for some ZZZs. Just 20 minutes later and you will wake right when the caffeine kicks in.
